FLORIDA MILITIA MISSION STATEMENT
At the heart of the Florida Militia is a deep and unwavering commitment: to defend the Constitution of the United States, preserve the freedoms it guarantees, and protect the lives and liberty of the people of Florida. We exist to stand ready in times of crisis—natural or man-made—united by duty, driven by honor, and grounded in the belief that a free people must also be a prepared people. As proud defenders of our Constitutional Republic, we draw strength from the Second Amendment, which affirms: “A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” “Well-regulated” means well-trained, disciplined, and organized—qualities every citizen can embrace. The term “Militia” means us: ordinary citizens, not professional soldiers, stepping up in extraordinary times. As defined by Black’s Law Dictionary, 3rd Edition: “Militia: The body of citizens in a state, enrolled for discipline as a military force, but not engaged in actual service except in emergencies, as distinguished from regular troops or a standing army.” The Florida Militia is open to every law-abiding citizen of Florida—regardless of race, gender, age, religion, or political beliefs—who is committed to protecting our state, our nation, and our neighbors. Now is the time to stand up. Now is the time to prepare. Now is the time to serve. Join the Florida Militia and be part of something greater than yourself. Help ensure that freedom, security, and the rule of law endure for future generations. Protect your community. Defend your Constitution. Answer the call. |
